David Lyles believes that integrity is the keystone of our judicial system. David is respected for his character, temperament, and honesty throughout the legal profession and in his community. David has spent his entire career as a public servant representing the people of the State of Georgia as a prosecutor. He is dedicated to doing what is right, whether it favors his cause or that of his opponent. His commitment to finding the right path to best serve justice has been the aspiration and the hallmark of his legal career.
David credits the man he is today to the principles instilled in him by his parents and a strong Christian upbringing. As a teenager, David rose to the rank of Eagle Scout and worked summers as a Ranger at Philmont Scout Ranch. In the years afterward, he followed in his father’s footsteps in becoming a Freemason. David has held numerous offices within the Lodge and served as Master of Dallas Lodge #182 F.&A.M. in 2012.
David has been appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia to serve as a mentor to younger attorneys, and volunteers twice a year to teach professionalism to law students at his alma mater, Emory university School of Law.
Honesty, hard work, and giving back to his community are characteristics David has tried to exemplify throughout his life and his career. These are the same characteristics which we can expect from him as a Judge in the Paulding Superior Court.
